Here is a common list of error that you will find in server.log file when using MySQL with ChatBlazer.
If you get any mysql error message that you do not find below, email us at support@pendulab.com with the error message that you are getting.

JDBC driver files cannot be found (com.mysql.jdbc.Driver). Please add the JDBC driver library/files to the Java classpath or disable the SQL module.

The JDBC library is missing or not specified during runtime.

Solution
- Download the latest MySQL JDBC from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/j/ extract the JAR file and save it in chatblazer8/server/lib folder
- If you are running startsvr.bat on Windows, open it in a text editor and look for the following line:
rem set CBE_CP=%CBE_CP%;lib\mysql-connector-java-3.1.13-bin.jar
remove rem and modify the filename of the JDBC to the one which you have downloaded.

java.sql.SQLException: Access denied for user 'USER'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

The username or password is incorrectly specified in confdb.xml

Solution
- Open confdb.xml and look for the following:
<param name="user" value="USER" />
<param name="password" value="PASSWORD" />
Change USER and PASSWORD to the username and password of your MySQL user respectively.

If they are already set, check to make sure they are correctly define.

com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Access denied for user 'USER'@'%' to database 'cb8db'

The MySQL user that you have defined does not have permission to access the database.

Solution
- Launch MySQL Command Line client
- run the following SQL command:
GRANT ALL ON cb8db.* TO 'USER'@'%';

For more information, refer to http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/grant.html on how to grant MySQL user permission.

The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server.

It could be due to various reason. The most common that we found was that MySQL cannot bind to localhost.

Solution:
- Open confdb.xml and look for:
<param name="connectUrl" value="jdbc:mysql://localhost/cb8db?useUnicode=true&amp;characterEncoding=UTF-8&amp;zeroDateTimeBehavior=convertToNull" />
Change your connectURL from localhost to 127.0.0.1 if your database is on the same machine as your ChatBlazer server.

The database indicated in the connectURL is not created.

Solution:
